PayPal Issues

If you are receiving a PayPal "session timed-out" error message or an empty box with "retry" message when trying to register/renew your AAA membership, please note that this is a PayPal security issue that can be resolved:

1. Clear your browser cache memory (instructions here)

2. Enable cookies for PayPal.com and aaasite.org (instructions below)

3. Use the Membership page to join/renew your membership for 2008.

Enabling Cookies

To access secure websites and online payment systems like PayPal.com, your web browser must be configured to accept cookies. This is PayPal policy.
To enable cookies, follow the steps below for your specific web browser:

For Internet Explorer version 6.0 or above:

  1. Open your Internet Explorer browser.
  2. Click Tools located at the top of the browser and select Internet Options.
  3. Click Privacy tab, located at the top of the window.
  4. Click either "Edit" or "Sites".
  5. On the line provided, type https://www.paypal.com/ and click Allow.
  6. In the same line, type http://www.aaasite.org/ and click Allow.
  7. Click OK and OK to exit all screens.
  8. Exit all browser windows and restart Internet Explorer.

For Internet Explorer version 5.5 and earlier:

  1. Open your Internet Explorer browser.
  2. From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Select the Security tab and click Custom Level.
  4. There will be a section labeled Cookies.
  5. In the section labeled Cookies, make sure both types are Enabled and click OK.
  6. Exit all browser windows and restart Internet Explorer.

To enable cookies for Internet Explorer using a Mac OS 10 or later:

  1. Click Explorer at the top of your screen.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Under Receiving Files preferences, click Cookies.
  4. Next to 'When receiving cookies' select 'Never Ask'.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Exit all browser windows and restart Internet Explorer.

To enable cookies for Internet Explorer using a Mac OS 9.X or lower:

  1. Click 'Edit' from the top bar.
  2. Select 'Preferences'.
  3. Select 'Privacy & Security'.
  4. Under Cookies, select 'Enable all cookies'.
  5. Click 'OK'.
  6. Exit all browser windows and restart Internet Explorer.

To enable cookies for Safari using a Mac:

  1. Open Safari and select "Preferences" from the Safari menu.
  2. If you do not see several icons across the top of the window, click the oval button in the top right corner.
  3. Click the "Security" icon.
  4. In the Accept Cookies area of the window, select the "Always" button.
  5. Click OK and close the window.
  6. Shutdown all browser windows and restart Safari.
